Boko Haram retaliates commander’s death, kills ISWAP fighters in Lake Chad

Days after the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) killed a Boko Haram top commander, Abubakar Dogo Daawa, the sect has retaliated.

The elimination of Dogo Daawa, a top Abubakar Shekau lieutenant, was led by ISWAP’s Modou Bashir Okocha.

After the assault in the Sambisa forest, Boko Haram carried out a massive reprisal in the Lake Chad axis. They were led by Bakoura Buduma.

With the appointment of Bakoura Salaba and Bakoura Doro as new commanders at Toumboun Gajimi, Bakoura Buduma now leads a led Boko Haram faction trying to take over Lake Chad from ISWAP.

A source told PRNigeria that Boko Haram insurgents converged in Lelewa, Duwa, Wallal, and Hauwa Bulumwa villages around the Niger Republic before hitting the ISIS affiliate.

Under the cover of darkness, they attacked from Kaduna Ruwa and Kaiga, killed many of their rivals, and seized their arms and ammunition.

“Boko Haram dislodged and dominated Tumbun Ali, Kaduna Ruwa, Marda, and Kahuram, all major ISWAP camps, killing scores of high-valued fighters, commanders, and bodyguards. Many were seriously injured,” the officer said.

Boko Haram sect is also battling with ISWAP footsoldier at Kirta and Wulgo communities in the Marte Local Government Area of Borno.
