He was travelling along with his co-trader who gave his name as Mr. Chinenye Eze. The duo were robbed of the total sum of N1.5m.

ABN TV gathered that shortly after that, the robbers returned and made away with the remaining N500,000 belonging to his colleague, hidden under the tricycle seat which they were traveling with.

The traders had earlier made withdrawal at an old generation bank located along Bank Road Umuahia for the transaction.

While the EODU chairman withdrew the sum of N1m, his colleague took N500,000 while they set out for their journey.

When asked why they decided to trade with cash instead of bank transfer, Mr Eze told our correspondent that their suppliers prefer cash payment instead of transfer.
