As many politicians across the three senatorial zones in Abia State have thrown a spanner into the works towards realizing their 2023 Governorship race to the Lion House, a pressure group has advised Abians to apply prudence to ensure 2023 will mark a new era in the politics of the state in order to create political sanity and cohesion.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Monday morning, the National Coordinator, Abia Rebirth For Good Governance, Chief Aham Iroegbu, has cautioned that the state should pick out and root for leaders of the great pedigree with good antecedents and proven integrity.
In his words: “I have followed the leadership style of Engineer Chinedum Orji, the Abia State Assembly Speaker, I have studied his antecedents in human-capacity building, empowerment, and compassion towards the needy, and his efforts at ensuring that Abia citizens feel the impact of good governance, which has earned him the title of ” The Speaking Speaker”, across the board.
“In my calculated opinion, I am optimistic that Abia State needs a pragmatic, tested, and trusted leader to move Abia forward for the good of all. This is not the time to play politics of bitterness and witch-hunting as it is an evil wind that will blow us no good.
“We must understand the need for consolidation and leadership prudence which is what Abia State needs at this point to move forward and maintain her rising profile as the hub of foreign investment in Nigeria” he argued.
Chief Aham further said that Engr Chinedum Orji will be a round peg in a round hole if given the important opportunity to run the affairs of Abia state from 2023.
