Abia Deputy Speaker Donates Relief Items to Indigenes of Amangwu Community.

The Deputy Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu today presented some relief items to members of Amangwu Community in Ohafia.

The move followed the desertification of the Amangwu community by her indigenes following a breach of security in the community which has seen members of the community running to other neighbouring communities in Ohafia for safety.

According to the Deputy Speaker who donated Bags of Rice, Cartons of indomie and a cash of #200, 000 to the community, the gesture is to ensure their welfare at the various communities they had run to for safety while efforts are being made to ensure that peace and normalcy is returned to Amangwu to enable them return to their community. He pleaded with the host communities of Amaekpu and Elu to always look out for their brothers and sisters from Amangwu who had ran to them to seek for refuge.

Receiving the items, the traditional ruler of Amangwu community, Ezeogo Mmecha who was flanked by the traditional ruler of Amaekpu Community, Ezeogo Awa Nwankwo thanked the Deputy Speaker whom he stated has been in contact with them since the incidence started. He noted that the relief items from the state law maker has indeed showed that he has the interest of his people at heart.

The handing over of the relief materials took place at the Palace of the Udumaeze of Ohafia, HRP, Eze Prof. Imaga with the Deputy Speaker’s team led by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Emmanuel Joe.
