Abuja: Commuters Suffer As Soldiers Block Highway To Catch Kidnappers.

Abuja Road Block

In what could only be described as frustration, the users of Goodluck Jonathan Expressway has suffered a total gridlock from around 7 am today till around 3 pm (at the time of writing this report)

The said road is between Asokoro – Nyanya through Kugbo, which is the only road to access Karu, Nyanya, Mararaba, Jukwoi and every other inhabited area around this area of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC)

According to information gathered by OHAFIA TV News correspondence, the road blockade started as a result of a suvilience roadblock set up by Soldiers from Abacha Barrack at the Kugbo area in an attempt to capture supposed kidnappers that operated around the area.

The situation has been so severe that commuters had to pay through their nose to get to their destinations whereas others have resorted to trekking as no vehicular movement has been possible from all roads leading to Goodluck Jonathan Expressway for many hours now.

The few persons who spoke to OHAFIA TV News sent a passionate appeal to the military authorities to prevail upon their men to dismount the roadblock before it is too late as people will be forced to trek hundreds of kilometres or sleep on the road.

Mohammed said, “The kidnappers cannot be on the road after their operations, why are they subjecting innocent citizens to unnecessary hardship for what is not of their making?”

Another driver lamented the nature of this road that is notorious for the holdup on Wednesday Nyanya market days and ordinary days from 5 pm.

“Normally, we suffer holdup every market day, today has become worse from morning and we don’t know our fate. We are appealing to the military authority to take their men off the road. I am sure the kidnappers will be in the bush, not on the road after their operations” Ndubuisi Micheal appealed.

Meanwhile, an ambulance with a dying patient has continued to navigate within the bridge over 30 minutes trying to leave the Nyanya General Hospital area. We are not certain what will be the fate of the patient.

We are still trying to establish the true story behind the kidnapping angle and who was kidnapped that caused the actions of the men in uniform.
