Coronavirus: Atiku reacts as FG imposes travel ban on 13 countries

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for imposing travel ban on thirteen countries over the Coronavirus outbreak.

According to reports that the Nigerian government on Wednesday announced that it was restricting entry for travellers from 13 countries into Nigeria to reduce the risk of the virus spread

“The travel ban is to take effect on March 21st, 2020.

Reacting, Atiku on Twitter called on Nigerians to adhere strictly to the government protocols on personal hygiene.

”I commend the FG for heeding to our calls by putting in place a policy of restriction on travellers from countries with high Coronavirus cases.

”I call on Nigerians to adhere strictly to @WHO and @NCDCgov protocols on personal hygiene and social distancing. ”

Meanwhile, Nigeria on Wednesday announced five new cases of the coronavirus.

The new cases bring the total number of coronavirus patients in Nigeria to eight.
