“Senator Orji also mentioned some Ohafia politicians who were given top political appointments in his administration, especially Umeh Kalu SAN, late Chief Ukpai Agwu, etc.

“Orji advised the Ohafia people to close ranks in order to achieve common interests, including the much sought after gubernatorial slot.

“Thereafter, Nnaoha Sunny Onyeije, Prof Kalu Iche, Chief Sunny Okoro, and Madam Ogbonne Kalu Oluah added their voices, calling on the former governor to push for a governor of Ohafia extraction, come 2023.”

“The next round of meeting was with the Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Orji.
The MPA President made the same appeal for support to him and in his response he reminded the delegation of the ancestral relationship between Nde Ohafia and the Ibeku community.

“The speaker advised that our advocacy should take this order: Abia North- Ohafia LGA before reducing it to Ohafia Ofur’ishi.

“The speaker used the opportunity to complain about the activity of a one-time commissioner from Ohafia and the need to call him to order.

“The MPA President reassured him that the peaceful generational coexistence that the two communities of Ohafia and Ibeku have enjoyed will not be affected by whatever personal issues that the T. A. Oji family and the former commissioner may have had. We appealed to them to find a peaceful resolution to their differences bearing in mind that Ohafia and Ibeku are one family.

“Based on this, the speaker promised to offer whatever support to help the Ohafia LGA achieve its governorship ambition.

“The meeting came to a close after a vote of thanks by Nnaoha Sunny Onyeije,” the statement said.
