Prior to the appointment of Dr. Chidia Maduekwe as the Director-General of the Nigeria Film corporations in 2017, the agency was hitherto in an obnoxious state seeking rejuvenation and expertise, it was the coming of the Asaga, Ohafia born administrator that transformed the once-neglected agency to become the subject of attraction and commendation across the board.

The gains are in the platforms and opportunities the festival provided for engagements of film and creative stakeholders towards improving our domestic film production while aiming at more effective global competitiveness.

With the sterling leadership, ideas, and insight of Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, there are high hopes for better film production in Nigeria. Already, the Nigerian Film Corporation has expanded and strengthened its operations through robust partnerships and collaborations with capabilities of engendering the accelerated growth of the industry.
The impact of Dr. Chidia Madueke’s Midas touch in the film industry, particularly, his resolve towards eradicating youth unemployment as the training of youths in modern film production by the agency is specifically designed to ensure that the participants are not only self-employed but also become employers of labor.
