At the middle of the outgoing week, I received a call from an anonymous caller. He had called to express satisfaction at the performance of the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia federal Constituency in the house of Representatives, Hon Uko Ndukwe Nkole.
He was moved by the various publications that adorned the media space which bothered and anchored on his recent strides in the areas of attraction of some completed road projects as well as ongoing ones, his facilitation of employment opportunities to some members of his constituency into Federal government establishments, and of course, he made mention of the capacity training program he recently organized for teachers and Head teachers in his constituency. The call in its entirety was his own little way of passing a vote of confidence on Mr. Project. That was really encouraging and represents the current mind and mood of majority of the people of Arochukwu and Ohafia LGAs and by extension, the good people of Abia state.
Any rational mind who embarks on a general and holistic assessment of the achievements and accomplishments of Hon Nkole since 2015 would not agree less with me that he has done what Napoleon Bonaparte could not do.
He has performed above his primary and core mandate of Lawmaking, Representation and oversight as a legislator. He has quietly dotted His signature in all the hooks and cronies of his constituency. You won’t pass a kilometer without seeing one.
The people of his constituency are now enjoying and counting their blessings and benefits over their Choice of Chief Nkole in 2015, which was reviewed, renewed and rectified at the polls again in 2019 and will terminate by 2023. Of course, in line with the economy of God, the reward for hard work is and has remained more work. Anyway, let’s leave that for another day.
What has he done that Napoleon Bonaparte couldn’t do you may ask?
Just last, in an unsual but expected manner, the Federal lawmaker took an unscheduled and unannounced media tour of some of the project sites he attracted or personally funded in his constituency. While a lot have been completed, few others are at their various completion stages.
At this juncture, be patient as I pilot you on this flight in a long academic journey.
