Mben Political Assembly, MPA gathered key stakeholders, more than 20 of them that are pushing the Ohafia 2023 project to a meeting on new-year day, January 01, 2022, at about 6pm at Amaekpu Ohafia.

It was like a make or mar event for our aspirations and the participants took it as such, by rising to the occasion. The meeting came up with salient actions that will reposition MPA and Ohafia during the last lap of the state electioneering process, following a review of MPA’s activities from inception.

The meeting observed that sale of party nomination forms, candidate campaigns and primaries for various elective positions will be undertaken in the nine months through November, 2022. It therefore resolved to leave no stone unturned and on time too to meet our objectives.

The meeting resolved to reach out to Ohafia’s biggest names or our first 11 to lead consultative meetings to top political influencers in the state. It also called on wealthy Ohafians to magnanimously provide funding to the Ohafia 2023 project.

It called on reputable Ohafians with the financial and leadership capacity and nusing the ambition to rule the state to declare without further delay and be confident of the backing of Ohafia people.

To give more impetus to the Ohafia 2023 project, the meeting resolved to pay consultative visits to Abia topmost politicians of diverse leaning as early as possible and in no order. Those agreed to be visited included Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and former governors T.A. Orji and Orji Uzoh Kalu. Their supporters were enjoined to arrange the meetings almost immediately.

It was also agreed that MPA and nde Ohafia should pay greater attention to voter registration to get more people enrolled for election while traditional rulers were advised to consider incentives and light sanctions that could make more of their subjects want to register.

Dr Chidia Maduekwe declared his intention to contest the Abia State governorship election. Chief Mrs Love Ezema, announced plan to run for Ohafia/Arochukwu Federal House of Representatives while Deputy Speaker, Ifeanyi Uchendu said he’s still consulting and will make his intention known to nde Ohafia in due course.

Chief Dike Okoro Uche pleged to provide two SUVs and 100,000 naira to support each team that will be on the consultative visitations to Abia top politicians.

He also pledged to contribute 20 million naira to the campaign team of any Ohafia person who emerges as a guber candidate of any of the major political parties.

Finally, Chief Okoro Uche also expressed interest to run for Ohafia House of Assembly seat.
