One of the best qualities Ohafia people were known for, included heroic escapades in war, which made them to be known as a tribe of warriors.
As humanity began to embrace civilization in the 21st century, the same pursuit for exploits has been translated down to many fields of endeavour like politics, trade, industry, academic, etc which is evidenced in producing champions in many fields.
Little wonder then that during the 34th convocation of the renowned university of Calabar, Miss Ukwa Amarachi Kalu in the department of Religious and Cultural studies, Faculty of Arts, a girl that hails from Amaekpu Ohafia, in Abia State, made the best result in her department (First Class) and was by so given automatic employment by the school.
It is noteworthy that University of Calabar is one of the best universities in Nigeria, especially in academic excellence.
According to Hon Steven Ukpai Ohafia, the elder brother to the graduate, who spoke with OUR EDITOR in a phone conversation, he expressed appreciation to God for his love and mercies upon the life of his sister, and prayed God to bless Amarachi with more wisdom in her academic pursuit.
In her own reactions, Miss Amarachi said:
“My academic excellence is as a result of the love shown to me by my family and my advise to other students is to be more serious in their academic pursuit.
