The transition Chairman of Ohafia Local Government Area, Hon Chief Mba Ukaha have played host to the body covering all students in Ohafia, National Association of Ohafia Students Worldwide (NAOS WW), who paid him a courtesy visit in line with their mission of familiarizing with Ohafia leaders. The aim being to seek guidance and support for the entire Ohafia Students for who they represent.
Recall that the first courtesy call was on the Abia State Deputy Speaker, Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu who also received the students penultimate month, with warm acceptance and promised synergy with them in efforts to place Ohafia on the right path to economic, political and social development.
While chatting with the Students, Chief Mba Ukaha listened to them as a caring father he is while the they outline their programme for the year and solicited for maximum support from the number one citizen of Ohafia, emphasizing that their target is better welfare package for Ohafia Students at all times.
On his part, the Chairman thanked the youths for taking the bold step and promised to support them at all times because all hands must be on deck to move Ohafia forward. Chief Mba also tasked them to look closely among their colleagues and fish out those that are bastardizing the name of Ohafia in the name of cultism, stating that such practice is strange to Ohafia and foreign to our culture but assured them he will always include Ohafia students in his welfare package to every Ohafian.
In the same vein, the Deputy Chairman of Ohafia LGA, Prince Arunsi also welcomed the students and commended them for their laudable progammes set up to sensitize the students in this yuletide season, saying it is a step in the right direction.
He concluded by promising to financially assist the NOAS programmes slated for this year and also promised open door for them any time they have the need to call on him.
In response, the President of NOAS, Comr. Idika Michael, who led the EXCO and members drawn from different high institutions, expressed overwhelming delight at the way they were received by the chairman amidst his tight schedules, saying that it is a sign of recognition and love the Chairman has placed on the students of Ohafia.
He also thanked the Chairman for the pragmatic and mature manner with which he has handled the issue of farmers-Herdsmen Clash in Ohafia as peace and mutual co-existence has returned since he intervened to mediate in the matter.
At the end, the students promised to liaise with the Chairman and constituted authority to fish out the bad eggs that are denting the name of Ohafia in the name of cultism, stating that it is not welcome for any reason whatsoever.
