The council of the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland has hailed the decision of the Zamfara State Government to approve gun licenses. The government gave the approval to enable individuals to carry a firearm for defense against terrorists. There have been countless attacks in Zamfara in recent years, with hundreds killed, kidnapped or wounded. The police have launched an operation to rescue 22 farmers abducted by bandits on Thursday in Rafin Dadi community, which lies on the border between the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Niger State. Herdsmen invade Enugu community, kidnap six pilgrims

Suspected armed Fulani men, reportedly wearing police uniforms, last Sunday, invaded Ibite Awhum community, in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State and kidnapped six Christian pilgrims.
