The loss of our own daughter GOODNESS to malaria at 16 months unnecessarily, in the rural village gave us a mission we never thought of or ever dream of- Never to forget those children and undeserved communities we left behind. That gave birth to the founding of Challenge AIDS & Malaria in Africa (CHAMA), now over a decade.
Then we finally arrived and had a great time discussing with the Chief of the community who shared with us, a most unfortunate incident. The Chief, Paul, migrated to the settlement with is brother, Ama over 20years ago. But his brother Ama had short-lived. He died of needless tropical diseases such as malaria. Poverty diseases are wiping off this community from the map of the world if nothing tangibly serious is done to bring emergency healthcare and other social amenities to then.
THEIR CASE DECLARED AS CRITICAL – EMERGENCY MEDICAL MISSION DECLARED.
Can you just imagine the kind of refugee camps they lives in as houses. But that is their home. They are not refugees. They have no school, no power, no hospital and according to them – no government official has ever visited them over 20 years ago. Where is the government official that represents them. They need your help. CHAMA is planning an emergency medical mission relief for this community come January 2017 and all well wishers are welcomed to partners with us. This is one of the most despicable and deplorable situation I have witnessed. And WE CAN’T KEEP QUIET ANY MORE!
This community is in OHAFIA Local Government Area of Abia State, in South Eastern Nigeria. For over 20 years, no government official has visited them.Yet, they have been casting their votes to elect their officials. What an unfortunate situation!
Let us team up and come to the aid of this community. They need emergency health services, clean water and school. Let us forget the big boys argument and help these people.
