Umuahia Diocese of The Catholic Church Honours Abia Deputy Speaker

The Deputy Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu was today honoured with a DISTINGUISHED PERSONALITY AWARD by the Catholic Church of Umuahia.

The Award which is in recognition of the contributions of the Deputy Speaker towards the Catholic Church came during the Centenary Celebration of the Advent of the Catholic Faith in Umuahia Diocese and the Launching of the Centenary Publication (THE GIFT OF THE CHURCH) held at the Jubilee Auditorium, Mater Dei Cathedral Premises.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Deputy Speaker thanked God for His provisions which enabled him to build a Church Auditorium for the Catholic Church (CKC) Elu Ohafia. He also thanked the Church for the Award/Recognition which he said will spur him to do more. Rt. Hon. Uchendu also supported the Church in the Launching of her Centenary Publications while congratulating the Church for the feat.

The ceremony which had in attendance the Catholic Church top Hierarchy, the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Rt. Hon. Sir Ude Oko Chukwu (Ph.D), Chief Erondu Uchenna Erondu (Special Adviser to Abia State Governor) and other top Government functionaries, Captains of Industries also featured cutting of the Anniversary Cake, Presentation of Award to deserving persons including the Deputy Governor, Launching of the Centenary Publication and Mass.
