On this path, the Minister of National Education and Higher Education Ariceni Abdulai Jibrilo Baldé, asked for support from Cuba in the field of Education.
The wish was conveyed today 24 June 2020 during the meeting with the Cuban Ambassador to Guinea Bissau, Mr. Raúl de la peña Silva.
Jibrilo Baldé indicated three major areas for which he wants to count on the support of the Cuban Government, namely literacy to lower the illiteracy rate in Guinea Bissau, which is around 43%.

Finally, the Minister expressed his desire to see the “ALFA TV E ALFA RADIO” project resumed, and also at the level of teachers, recalling the time when the Cuban Government sent teachers to Guinea Bissau.
In reaction to this request, the Cuban Ambassador to Guinea-Bissau, Mr. Raúl de la peña Silva, did not hide his satisfaction at the meeting and reception, revealing that the press has been following the excellent actions of Minister Jibrilo Baldé in the battle to change for the education sector in Guinea Bissau.
